Albuquerque, NM – October 3, 2025- Denver sports fans have a new team to cheer for, as the Denver Dynasty has officially been announced as an expansion franchise for the inaugural 2026 season of the WABA WEST, a new professional women's basketball league launching next spring.
The Dynasty, known for its strong presence in the semi-pro circuit, will transition to the new top-tier western league, beginning competitive play in April 2026.
Nick Lourenco, WABA WEST Commissioner and CEO, confirmed the news, stating that the Denver Dynasty will be a cornerstone franchise as the league establishes its footprint westward.

"The Denver Dynasty represents the kind of dedication and competitive fire we want in our league. Dynasty Owner and Coach Bettina Jones also shared her enthusiasm for the team's new chapter. "We are excited about joining the WABA WEST which gives teams like ours the opportunity to compete a little closer to home and finally get some new teams to the Mile High to continue the excitement of women's professional basketball in the city."
